Warmth of the crowding walls
is a physical assertion of faith.
Water runs to nowhere fast;
a gliding, slithering wraith.
Distant vibratos make me squeamish,
I feel the void in gasping artery.
To ween oneself from contact,
it’s a thirst to hide and avoid.
Open arms find barricades with fingers
and they guide my hands together
in hope that was all the more vapid
in the wide open Above.
Buy time with held breath,
relate to an unlight that recedes,
marinate in the recycled air
that rock sucks in and bleeds.
