It’s The Knowing

I raise my arms

He raises his too

I turn my palm

He turns his too

If I smile, he smiles

If he smiles, then I’m probably smiling too

The glue of a million lines interrupted by fragments join our tendons and flowing limbs as though we are shadow boxing

His realm has rendered so fully

I feel flat to compare

His reality is more pronounced than mine and it seems unfair

Now he’s slipping

Cut adrift

They have him by the throat and the balls and his bawling arms

They take him

Into the bright blue

Light behind

The place he never wanted me to go

Succumbed to their nefarious deeds

Gone
