Butter

Churned like butter,
we yearn to flutter
and splutter our way
to the moon

I remember the squeeze
when I battered my knees
in the waves, raging
at Typhoon Lagoon

You’re a superstar, yet:
a hurricane jet;
bustle and break
for the skies

In turbulence, we stutter,
our hearts all a flutter;
in cold faith
we can fly to the moon

Shirk your responses,
cling hard to what He says.
There’s a melody
somewhere inside

Eyes watered, unjustly,
the world collides, bustling;
don’t blink or
the loneliness burns.
