Approaching Fireflies

Upright backs and red hair
I’m falling
Into reverie unassumed and
Unremembered, probably
Unnoticed too.
I’m a ghost
And I’m floating to you.

Papered seats and food scraps,
Littered.
Scotch breath lingers;
A snore, a sniffle, a giggle.
Robots squeal as we shuffle
Onward, fucking.
With glowing eyes, we dream.

Place names and withering lights,
Sleeping.
I’m a fleck aboard this vessel which
Binds and bounds.
The stench of cash
Atop the junk,
I’m nauseous.
Take me home.
